Our Story
Rooted in Iran, curated from Sari and Tehran, Vanj Rug bridges the world of traditional weavers and modern design-conscious buyers.
Vanj Rug was founded with one promise: to treat each handwoven rug as a piece of living art. We work closely with small workshops and family-run ateliers across Iran to commission rugs that honor heritage while feeling at home in contemporary spaces.
Our curators see rugs the way gallerists see paintings—evaluating composition, color harmony, knot density, age, and character. Every piece that appears online has passed a meticulous selection and authentication process.
We don’t deal in anonymous mass-produced carpets. Only genuine Persian handwoven rugs from artisans we know, pay fairly, and visit regularly.
Whether you are building a collection, styling a single room, or designing a hotel lobby, we provide personal guidance—from selecting the right piece to understanding care, placement, and longevity.
Authenticity & provenance
Each rug is inspected in person, documented, and catalogued. You receive high-resolution photos, detailed measurements, and a signed authenticity certificate with origin and workshop notes.
Traditional hand-knotting
We support artisans who work exclusively with hand-knotted techniques, natural wool, and plant-based dyes. It can take months—or even years—to complete a single piece.
Natural fibers & dyes
From deep Persian reds to luxurious greens, our color palettes are created with natural dyes that age beautifully, gaining depth and character over time instead of fading.
Worldwide insured shipping
Each shipment is professionally packed, insured door-to-door, and includes unrolling and care instructions. We also offer 48-hour approval windows for select destinations in Europe.
